Al teclear cualquier palabra con Fast Type, deben combinarse las teclas de las vocales con las consonantes; por ejemplo, al escribir “hola” se presiona el botón de consonante, la “o”, nuevamente la consonante y la “a”, al hacer esto aparecerán las opciones que contengan esta combinación de letras.
Sin embargo, debido al algoritmo de inteligencia artificial empleado en el teclado, el sistema comenzará a aprender qué palabras son escritas y aunque sean parecidas gramaticalmente a otras, colocará la opción más adecuada, explicó Fernando Jiménez, fundador de Nyon.
Además de que la app personaliza la escritura y predice las palabras que puedan complementar la frase, pueden agregarse más, en caso de que no las detecte el sistema de inteligencia artificial, como nombres propios o términos coloquiales.
Aunque Fast Type ya cuenta con un catálogo inicial de dos mil palabras en inglés y español, éste puede aumentar de acuerdo a la frecuencia de empleo del usuario y la riqueza de su vocabulario. Si la persona maneja un lenguaje muy sofisticado o platica sobre un tema de tecnología y ciencia, agregará a la base de datos términos muy diferentes a los empleados durante una conversación sobre gastronomía.
De igual manera, si el usuario es recurrente en cuanto a abreviar palabras o escribirlas con errores de ortografía, la aplicación adoptará su lenguaje y mostrará esos términos.
La app podrá descargarse en smartphones y tablets con los sistemas operativos Android y iOS. Sólo deberá instalarse y elegir el teclado Fast Type como predeterminado y elegir el idioma, ya sea inglés o español, que será usado al momento de escribir mensajes de texto, de whatsapp, emails o en Facebook, detalló su creador.
Durante la fase de pruebas del teclado, se registró que son necesarios cinco minutos para que el usuario se acostumbre y entienda el funcionamiento de la interfaz, aunque requiere de mayor tiempo para que el sistema aprenda las palabras utilizadas por el usuario. Además, con el fin de evitar volver a enseñarle al sistema el modo de escritura, la app cuenta con un perfil que se guarda y puede instalarse en todos los dispositivos que utilice la misma persona.
A pesar de que la empresa inició operaciones en 2013, Fast Type ya es su tercer producto; los anteriores fueron un programa de edición de video para Ipad, y Estylus, una pluma especial magnética fabricada con madera de pino, utilizada con fines artísticos en tablets, smartphones o consolas de videojuegos portátiles.
